He did his apprenticeship for his Bachelor in Construction at Pellikaan. He liked it so much that he wanted to stay after his studies. The international character of Pellikaan appealed to him, just like the opportunity to put into practise what he had learned, and to learn the trade from A to Z. During his first years at Pellikaan, Sjef worked on several projects and in various roles in our German department. Now he uses this knowledge and experience in his role as BIM Manager.

With his team, Sjef works on digitalising the company internationally. Using digital processes, the construction process is optimised and smart solutions are found. That way, defects are minimised, different parts are optimally combined, and the works are programmed smartly. The goal is to continuously improve the process and the digital reality helps with this.

“It is great to be able to work on something new, and then get implement it, especially when you know that there is added value“ says Sjef about this. “We want everybody at Pellikaan to start working in the same way, and by applying digitalisation in various aspects of the construction process, we can align processes and construction methods.”

To promote this throughout the company, Sjef and his team is now also working on setting up a tutorial training system on YouTube. He also wants to increase the link between theory and practise and will visit projects on site for that. In short: there are still plenty things to do!
