It was a day full of fun activities for the local community at Saturday’s official opening of Morden Leisure Centre. Mayor of Merton Council and diving medallist Eden Cheng unveiled the plaque commemorating the opening of the new centre. The 16-year-old Eden won a gold medal in the 10 metre women’s synchro with partner Lois Toulson in Glasgow last year. Hopefully Morden Leisure Centre’s 5 metre diving platform will help inspire more future champions! To kick off, there was something for everyone to enjoy at Saturday’s open day: from outdoor fitness challenges and a giant inflatable foot dart game to yoga, swimming and aerobics sessions.
